Cutting
Each panel of black duchesse satin is hand-cut from a single hide, aligned to the grain so no two pairs are ever identical.

Lasting
The upper is shaped over a hand-carved wooden last and left to rest for 72 hours so it holds its line for life.

Hand-stitching
Every seam is closed by hand with waxed Italian thread at nine stitches per centimetre.

The heel
The sculptural heel is set, balanced and lacquered, then married to the sole entirely by hand.

Hemming & binding
Edges are skived thin, folded, bound and burnished with heated irons for a seamless, raw-free finish.

Finishing
The pair is conditioned, numbered, boxed and signed by its maker before it earns its passport.
